Domaine Wardy’s Cabernet Sauvignon

Another French grape wine out of Lebanon’s Domaine Wardy – Cabernet Sauvignon.  If you like French wines, you will love this one.  It’s very oaky on first tasting.  This is one wine that must be drunk with food.  I made the mistake of ingesting on a liquid diet.

Domaine Wardy is always a very interesting winery.  It rates highly in blind taste tests and people also compare their vintages to that of Musar, it is always a welcome surprise.

Taste: big tannins and structure, oaky, spicy, raw vegetables (I’m told green peppers).

Pro taste buds: This opulent Cabernet Sauvignon is rich, dark and fruity with a spicy finish. The French oak nuances add hints of vanilla and wood to the powerful palate.

Pair with food.  It should go well with anything deep fried and saucy.  This wine would pair well with thai curry.
