Region: Italy’s Emilia (DOC)

Winery: Cantine Casabella

Varietal: 100% Lambrusco (50% lambrusco salamino and 50% lambrusco maestri)

The Lambrusco from Casa Bella was unlike any lambrusco I have had the pleasure of drinking.  The nose had the most distinct characteristic – dairy farms.  It’s a sparkling red wine that would pair very well with cheese as it already smells like a dairy product.  It taste more like butterflies than flowers and wild berries.  Low alcohol content at 8% so one can easily finish a bottle.
