Teleda is a Georgian winery.  The wine was left to chill overnight, uncorked for 30 minutes prior to drinking to allow it to breathe.  Teleda makes dry red wines, this one had quite the tangy (orange) and fig notes that one would not come to expect from red wine.  It tastes like normal grape juice with alcoholic punch.  It did not have the long lasting characteristics but it went well with the food, so long as you chill it first.

Deep fried anything is best for alcohol consumption.  My friend decided he’s too sophisticated to drink beers so I had to chill the wine for him.  Since wine and beer are both alcoholic beverages, deep fried squid.  Red wines do taste better when chilled.  Fried foods are always a highlight.  You can’t see the bed of fried vermicelli resting below.

This is steamed melon with dried shrimp.  It’s tasty but as a healthy dish recommendation from the staff, it lacked real bite.  I would have enjoyed the dish more if it the dark sauce was vinegar rather than soy.  Any good variation would be soy, garlic and hot peppers.

Also ordered a dish of seasonal vegetables in a fermented tofu sauce.  Total bill for 3 dishes and soup, $180.  All in all, a very good meal for a Thursday night.  I love cooked food centres for their healthy portions.  Leave your attitude at the door, talk and share food with your neighbors, everyone has their own story and watch the night unfold.  If you are lucky, you may even witness this:
