Rotisserie Chicken in HK – Quarry Bay. Flames.

Rotisserie Chicken is sold at Costco for $5, as a loss leader to generate traffic and get members to peruse the store.  They command a different price in HK.  There has been a influx of rotisserie chicken venues over the past year to fill this gap in the market.  Problem with rotisserie chicken in HK is the price.  After conversion, it costs $20 so I pay four times the amount for a chicken nowhere near the size.

The chicken comes in two different flavours, portuguese or herb.  Portuguese style is reminisence of piri piri sauce with a lot of flavour.  The herb is more subtle and not overpowering.

Lunch special is 1/4 chicken with either rice, fries or salad.  I ordered the salad which allows you to chose two salads off the menu: pumpkin, greens and feta with vinegar and potato salad.  Potato salad would have had more flavor if they left the skin on and used a more subtle binding agent vs miracle whip.  I would suggest using the japanese mayo.  Pumpkin salad was decent but could use more feta cheese.

They brew their own chrysanthemum tea, which you can order for an extra $10.  Chrysanthemum tea is deadly easy to make, pour boiling water over the flower, add a teaspoon of honey and steep.

Someone really needs to do a sriracha and mayo sauce for dipping the chicken.
