Winery: Domaine Wardy, Lebanon

Varietal: Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon

Nose: black fruits, with over concentration in  ripe blueberries (when they’re about to turn soft and lose its shape).

Taste – mellows out over time, left to breathe for 24 hours.  On first opening the tannins were strong.  It has a metal and green vegetable after taste that is easy to drink.

We paired the wine with chicken burritos and felt the wine would pair better with red meat.  The wine was strong tasting with big punch flavours to which none of us were able to pin point.  New favorite wine as it drinks better than the Galana from Sardinia.  The wine will need food with strong flavours (blue cheese, goat cheese, lamb, bison, deer and anything where you want to taste nature) or anything with lots of pungent sauce (black pepper sauce drenched steaks, ketchup, vinegar and fish sauce)

Price: $350
