cooked food centers provide cafeteria dining to the legions of office workers that take lunch from noon-2pm.  I eat at star star as the whole menu is put infront of me.  I point and they lob onto the plate.  2 items cost $22 and 3 items cost $24, the soup of the day is another $3.  Tsing Taos are $13 rivaling the 7-11 price.  This is communal dining at its finest.  Office workers have their head down staring into their cellphone screens while everyone else is enjoying the hustle and bustle taking place around them.  The menus change on a daily basis depending on their fresh purchase deliveries in the morning.  One only need to head down a flight of stairs to sample the open air markets with fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood, poultry, pork and beef carved up and waiting for purchase.

  1. That looks wonderful! I just made Soupe à l’oignon, and am looking for other soup ideas to combat the unseasonably cold weather. I suppose it’s the winter equivalent of making lemonade. 🙂
